Praying Mantis

A Praying Mantis lies and waits for its prey; its posture makes it appear to be praying. Their usual prey is other insects. A Praying Mantis has also been known to capture and kill hummingbirds.

I get so excited to see God’s wonders up close and to be able to capture these small creatures on film. A hummingbird doesn’t seem to mind your watching them; in fact they will fly and hover in front of your very nose. At the same time you want to be real still if you want them to stay in flight in front of you; because once you move, they will fly away. It is really a pleasure when you see two or three. It sounds as if there is a helicopter overhead.
